Mission, Vision, and Values

We HONOR elders and are committed to creating and fostering diverse, caring communities where everyone has voice and value.

Embracing Diversity and Inclusion

We are an inclusive organization that values the richness of diversity and allows each individual the opportunity to contribute their gifts in significant ways to the success of the organization and the betterment of our community.

Aldersgate is located in the uniquely diverse East Charlotte Community. In 2016, the Board of Directors at Aldersgate engaged to develop an organization-wide diversity and inclusion strategic plan to be implemented and evaluated ongoing. Our organization is committed to embracing diversity and treating everyone with dignity and respect, and to support an inclusive culture. The ultimate goal is to make Aldersgate more equitable for elders we serve, staff, and board members by fully embracing all dimensions of diversity including race, age, religion, color, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, disability, culture, socioeconomic status, and other facets of life that make our community unique.

Announcement: Coronavirus Safety

Recognizing that the current status of the COVID-19 virus has reached a more elevated risk level and that we serve a population most vulnerable to the virus, we have made the decision to execute the next phase of our community plan to best protect our residents and team members.  The next phase places additional restrictions regarding campus visitation.  Effective immediately, all visitation will be restricted from the Aldersgate community.  This includes family members and friends across all areas of campus.  This restriction is also being required by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

The only exceptions to this visitation restriction will be related to family and clergy of residents who are determined to be in an end-of-life condition. Even in this circumstance, those visitors will be screened to attempt to insure they pose no risk of carrying the COVID-19 virus.

We realize this decision is very difficult for those with residents and clients at Aldersgate. Please be assured that these measures are being guided by best practices and regulatory agencies, and ALL actions are in the best interest of all of the elders we serve, as well as their loved ones and the staff who are honored to serve them. We hope you can trust that Aldersgate is committed to continuing to provide excellent care and while we know we cannot replace family, we hope you can trust that we will share our care and love with these folks who are so very important in the lives of many.

This is a time for all of us to be adaptive, understanding and in prayer for those who are already being affected very personally by the Coronavirus, as well as for our entire Aldersgate family as we travel this path together. Thank you for your understanding.
