Mission, Vision, and Values

We HONOR elders and are committed to creating and fostering diverse, caring communities where everyone has voice and value.

Embracing Diversity and Inclusion

We are an inclusive organization that values the richness of diversity and allows each individual the opportunity to contribute their gifts in significant ways to the success of the organization and the betterment of our community.

Aldersgate is located in the uniquely diverse East Charlotte Community. In 2016, the Board of Directors at Aldersgate engaged to develop an organization-wide diversity and inclusion strategic plan to be implemented and evaluated ongoing. Our organization is committed to embracing diversity and treating everyone with dignity and respect, and to support an inclusive culture. The ultimate goal is to make Aldersgate more equitable for elders we serve, staff, and board members by fully embracing all dimensions of diversity including race, age, religion, color, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, disability, culture, socioeconomic status, and other facets of life that make our community unique.

Asbury Health and Rehabilitation is Proud to be Named a U.S. News & World Report Best Nursing Home.

On any given morning this year, roughly 1.4 million individuals, including 1 in 10 individuals age 85 and above, will wake up in a U.S. skilled nursing center for short-term rehabilitation or long-term care. The quality of care provided at the more than 15,000 U.S. skilled nursing facilities varies widely. The purpose of the U.S. News & World Report study is to help families research facilities and find a center that excels in the type of care they need. The two ratings published by U.S. News, the Overall rating and the Short-Stay Rehabilitation rating, offer individuals and families a starting point in their research.

Where did the data come from?

All data used in the U.S. News Overall and Short-Stay Rehabilitation ratings came from publicly available sources published by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The U.S. News overall rating primarily employed the three domain star ratings published by CMS for state-conducted health inspections, amount of nurse staffing and measures of medical quality. The Short-Stay Rehabilitation rating used the underlying data that CMS aggregated in these domain ratings. Both U.S. News ratings further incorporated data from certain CMS public use files.

The Comforts of Person-Centered Living.

Formerly Asbury, Asbury Health and Rehabilitation Center was completely re-visioned in 2017. Nestled within the 231-acre Life Plan Community of Aldersgate, you’ll find the new Asbury Health and Rehabilitation – a lodge-like Center. Working with some of the best architects in the industry, the new Asbury is truly cutting edge and anything but “institutional.” With approximately 140,000 square feet and 125 private suites, the Center is a dramatic shift from the traditional “hospital-like” setting. With our “person-centered” care philosophy, amenity-filled households, experienced staff, advanced technologies and therapy equipment; Asbury Health and Rehabilitation Center continues the tradition of outstanding care. This is healthcare like you’ve never seen it!

Aldersgate is proud of the new Asbury Health and Rehabilitation Center. We are a preferred provider for Novant Health, OrthoCarolina, Carolinas HealthCare System and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. And now named a U.S. News2018-19 Best Nursing Home. Of course, it’s not about us; it’s about providing comfort and quality care for our elders and every generation to come.
