Aldersgate is located in the uniquely diverse East Charlotte Community. In 2016, the Board of Directors at Aldersgate engaged to develop an organization-wide diversity and inclusion strategic plan to be implemented and evaluated ongoing. Security Officer - 3rd Shift

Description

Patrols all grounds and facilities on foot and in company vehicle. Complies with security and safety regulations and enforces regulations in accordance with departmental procedures. Completes a variety of tasks to include but not limited to:  investigating and reporting unusual incidents; securing and opening buildings; assisting staff and residents with automobile problems; transporting residents across campus; providing information and directions; transporting medications; escort contractors; monitor parking lots during shift change to ensure safety of employees; respond to Personal Emergency Pendant alerts, maintain and upkeep of personal emergency systems on campus (battery replacements of pendant systems), reset in room information portal (CATIE devices) and inspecting portable fire extinguishers. Documents shift activities on radio/telephone log and reports in writing security concerns regarding environmental services (maintenance, housekeeping, etc.). Communicates problems and/or questions directly to supervisor utilizing the departments “Chain of Command” structure so timely corrective action can be taken.

Requirements:

Hours are 10pm - 6am, Monday thru Friday

 

Ability to read and write and perform simple math.

One to two years security experience preferred.

Possesses interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills. Ability to operate a two-way radio, golf cart and motor vehicle. Maintains confidentiality where deemed appropriate. Works under limited supervision.  Errors in judgment may result in accidents and/or serious injury,  equipment damage or liabilities for the company. Majority of time spent standing, walking, bending, stooping and lifting. May be required to work overtime.
