Aldersgate is located in the uniquely diverse East Charlotte Community. In 2016, the Board of Directors at Aldersgate engaged to develop an organization-wide diversity and inclusion strategic plan to be implemented and evaluated ongoing. Our organization is committed to embracing diversity and treating everyone with dignity and respect, and to support an inclusive culture. Life Enrichment Assistant

Description

Plans, implements and evaluates therapeutic/restorative activities under the supervision of the Lead Life Enrichment Therapist and/or the Director or Health Care Services for residents in Asbury Care Center. Establishes 1:1 relationships with residents and their families.Ability to lead activities for groups of residents, and on a 1:1 basis.  Ability to handle agitated, confused dementia residents. Possesses interpersonal skills.  Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written.  Maintains confidentiality. Implements structured activities program for various levels of residents.  Plans, conducts and assists with activities programs as directed. Participates in Resident Care Planning and provides supportive documentation in the absence of the Activity Therapist.  Communicates directly with Activity Therapists and supervisor regarding resident changes, concerns, observations, safety - factors and other related data. Adheres to policies and procedures regarding environmental/infection precautions and activities functions. Adheres to the defined policy for the Bill of Rights for Nursing Home Residents.
