Aldersgate is located in the uniquely diverse East Charlotte Community. Chief Financial Officer


    Responsible for all areas of financial management of Aldersgate UMRC, Inc.

Supervises, reviews and has final responsibility for the preparation of financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and supported by appropriately documented underlying accounting records.

Responsible for compliance with all state, federal and contractual financial regulations as they relate to the full range of Aldersgate activity.

Maintains an internal control environment that minimizes the potential for errors and regularities and maximizes the accuracy of Aldersgate financial reporting.

Responsible for the financial analysis of results of operations and the p­reparation of operational forecasts and cash flow projections.

Manages the cash and investments of Aldersgate in a manner that maximizes Aldersgate's return on its investments and complies with policies established by the Board of Directors.

            Monitors compliance with the terms of Aldersgate's debt agreements.

Responsible for the annual preparation of operating and capital budgets.

Has final responsibility­ for Aldersgate's Material Management operations.

Supervises the operations of the Finance Department.


Bachelors degree in accounting and license to practice as a Certified Public Accountant required.  Five years experience in accounting and/or finance in managerial position required.     

Thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, at the Finance Committee, Resident Association and Council Meetings, and Board of Directors level.

The ability to clearly communicate the financial position and mission of Aldersgate to individuals and groups beyond the organization who have a need to understand Aldersgate operations but have limited exposure to the complexities of Aldersgate operations and financial reporting environment, including the United Methodist Church, financial institutions, civic organizations and others.

Ability to work effectively as part of a management team which will look to this position for financial expertise, but will be expected to be consulted on all significant financial issues.  In addition, the individual in this position must be willing to become thoroughly acquainted with nonfinancial aspects of the management of ALDERSGATE in order to participate fully in the work of the Senior Management Team.
